Ms. Wiggins:

I would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to you and the Community Outreach Street Workers Program.

I was discouraged with the relationship and the direction my family were going in. My children had different ideas on how sisterhood should go. Sylvia is a socialite and Shirley likes to be independent and a loner. I had different ideas on how to put the family back together as a working unit. Schoolwork suffered. I was confused and frustrated; I really wanted to be successful.

Since we have entered theSreet Workers Outreach Program our lives have totally changed. I am a fulltime student as well as employed fulltime. Sylvia’s attitude toward school has become positive. She auditioned and joined the Winston art Institute this summer 2008. Shirley worked on job hunting skills. She is also looking forward to becoming a member of the Black Achievers’ Program. Both girls have become very close to each other. They are also on the WSPA Tennis Team. Venus and Serena Williams Look Out!

Thank you again,

Ms Marquie

The Streetworkers Program has worked with a young man, Bizmar, and his family for nearly a year. When the Streetworkers had started working with Bizmar, his family was living in a cramped house in need of many repairs. Recently, with the encouragement of the Streetworkers, his family has moved into a beautiful home that suites the needs and size of his family, located in a better environment for Bizmar and his brothers and sisters.
